Surfing is my passion, period. My name is Jeff and I am 47 years old. I was born and raised in California and I’ve been surfing since I was 11 years old. As kids my friends and I would get dropped off at the beach by one of our moms and another would pick us up, hours later at a designated time. We each had a little money for a burrito or slice of pizza that we innocently left with our stuff on the beach while we pushed each other to conquer nature’s elements consisting of ocean currents, rip tides, wind and whatever size the waves were that day.  No cell phones, just a time to meet our ride home.  Shear Bliss.  It all started as a hobby, but it became a way of life.  Surf culture is AMAZING and it can push you wildly beyond the mental and physical limits that we set for ourselves.  It has pushed me to get in better shape, connect with like-minded people and embrace different cultures while traveling on the never-ending search to find perfect, empty waves.  Thanksgiving day, 2022.  The waves were pumping, offshore winds and there were so many barrels to be had!  I took the lip of a barreling wave on the shoulder and blew out my knee badly: tibial plateau fracture, torn meniscus, torn acl and torn mcl.  I was told I might not surf again, at least not at the same level.  For those of you who have a passion for fitness or a specific sport, you understand this news can be DEVASTASTING.  I quickly decided on an autologous stem cell treatment (harvested from my own fat) with Dr Olivero.  The treatment was quick and comfortable, thanks to his ability to give me regional nerve blocks instead of oral pain killers.  I was able to conduct a dinner meeting the very night of the treatment, no problem.  I have 100% recovery today, complete regeneration without the scar tissue from a traditional surgery.  Thanks to this treatment I’ve recaptured my active lifestyle, running 16-20 miles a week, 30-mile bike ride on the weekends and I surfed the biggest winter swell to hit California in years.
